What we collect

Account details you provide (name, email, optional phone), saved properties, collections, saved searches and alert preferences, private notes, planned inspections, and enquiries you send to agents.

If you apply to rent a property, the renter profile you fill in and any identity documents you upload. Documents are kept in private storage and shown only to the owner or agent of a property you apply to, and only the documents you attach to that application.

A random visitor cookie (gv_vid) so each person counts once a day in a listing’s page views. It doesn’t identify you.

Signing in with Google, Facebook or Apple

If you choose one of these, we receive your name, email address and an account identifier from that provider, and nothing else: no contacts, posts or friends. We use them only to sign you in. Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your email. You can disconnect a provider under Settings → Sign-in methods; you can also remove our access from your Google, Facebook or Apple account settings.

How we use it

To operate your account, store your preferences, and pass enquiries to the agent or agency you contact. Enquiry delivery by email only occurs when an email provider is configured.

Advertising

Some pages show advertisements, marked “Advertisement”. Banners we sell directly are served from this site and we count only anonymous views and clicks. Where Google AdSense is used, Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites; you can opt out of personalised ads at Google Ads Settings. Calculator details you enter (income, expenses) stay in your browser and are never sent to us or to partners.

Security

Passwords are stored as salted bcrypt hashes. Sessions use secure, HTTP-only cookies and only a hash of the session token is stored. IP addresses used for abuse protection are hashed before being recorded in audit logs.

Your choices

You can update your profile, delete saved searches, collections and notes at any time from your account. Contact us to request access to or deletion of your data.

Deleting your data

To delete your account and its data, including anything received from Google, Facebook or Apple, send a request from the Help page using the email address on your account. We delete it within 30 days and confirm by email. Records we must keep by law (such as payment receipts) are kept only as long as required.
